Police in Tamale in the Northern region have arrested a woman who is being accused of abusing her four year old nephew.It follows an exposé by Joy News correspondent Martina Bugriba of Radio Justice earlier this week.Memunatu Laadi is said to have assaulted the young boy only known as Suale, on countless occasions, leaving him with bruises.The Tamale branch of the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police moved in to rescue four year old Suale following appeals by some residents of the Hausa Zongo community.Martina Bugriba told Joy News on Thursday the suspect went into hiding immediately the news broke on Joy FM.However, the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) invited the husband through whom they were able to apprehend Memunatu Laadi at her hide out.The little boy is currently at the Tamale Teaching Hospital receiving treatment. He would be sent to a children’s home, Martina learnt.
