A 35-year-old woman, Grace Anani, a seamstress of Atsikope , a suburb of Nsawam, was on Friday struck dead by lightening during a short thunderous rainfall.
Mr Federick Miatordzor, a family spokesman, told the GNA in an interview that a short heavy rainfall started around 1730 hours and within a short while the intensity increased with loud thunder and lightning blasts one of which caught Grace Anani who died instantly.
Mr Samuel Buabeng, the Nsawam District Police Commander, confirmed the death of the seamstress and said the body had been deposited at the Nsawam Government Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
Mr Miatordzor said the deceased has three children, and her husband has embarked on a journey to Nigeria.
