Gamba All Blacks were not only left to rue their 0-2 defeat to Bofoakwa Tano at the Coronation park on Wednesday but had to see assistant coach, Winson Kofi Abbrey placed in Police custody overnight.
The former national star was detained by the Sunyani Police for assaulting an officer of the service.
Kofi Abbrey is alleged to have slapped the police officer after the game when the officer attempted to prevent the assistant Black Magicians coach from having verbal exchanges with some home fans.
Attempts by the management of Gamba All Blacks to secure a bail for Abbrey failed.
The coach was arraigned before a Sunyani district court on Thursday.
Two goals, one in each half was enough to secure victory for Bofoakwa Tano as they beat Gamba All Blacks 2-0 at the Sunyani Coronation park on Wednesday.
The Black Magicians started off the game on a good note but paid dearly for their lack of concentration when the home side took the lead in the 4th minute through Sander Mohammed.
Sander’s goal appeared to have play of Bofoakwa Tano as they dictated the pace of the game afterwards.
The lone goal separated both sides as the first half was brought to an end.
In the second half, Francis Darko increased the goal tally when he scored in the 59th minute to make it 2-0 for Bofoakwa Tano to seal victory.
