The 2012 Presidential candidate for the Convention People's Party (CPP), Dr. Michael Abu Sakara Foster says leaders have failed to transform the country’s economy.
According to him, despite being gifted with natural resources to enable it grow and become enviable across the continent and the globe, Ghana is suffering from the lack of proper management of these resources.
Speaking to Adom TV ahead of Ghana's 57th Independence anniversary, which comes off Thursday, March 6, Dr. Sakara said it is such a pity for the nation to import products manufactured with raw materials coming from Ghana.
"Our leaders have failed us, this is not our destiny; Ghana should have been far ahead. Look at the agriculture sector, we have a fertile land to grow food crops, yet we can’t feed ourselves and our industries. Ghana has failed to transform its economy,” he sobbed.
Dr. Sakara has however, commended the veterans, who stood and fought for Ghana’s independence saying, the significance cannot be measured but can be felt in the freedom and dignity of which Ghanaians are enjoying now.
