Former coach of Accra Hearts of Oak Abubakar Yussif has been appointed as the new substantive coach of Berekum Chelsea as Dutchman Van Der Pluijm becomes technical head.
Reports reaching JOY Sports said as part of a massive technical reshuffle for the upcoming season, the former Wassaman coach becomes the head coach whiles the assistant coach Annor Walker maintains his position.
Re-assigned coach Pluijm led the 2011 Ghanaian champions in their debut CAF Champions League campaign where they failed to progress from the Group stage. Berekum Chelsea recorded two wins, three draws and one defeat to finish in third place behind Al Ahly and TP Mazembe in Group B.
Pluijm has coached Heart of Lions and Ashanti Gold in the Ghana Premier League. He also has international experience after handling Ethiopian side Saint George.
Coach Abubakar Yussif led former Ghana Premier side Wassaman relegation campaign last season after placing last but two on the league radar with 29 points after 30 matches.
