Black Stars striker David Accam has defended his move to the Major League Soccer( MLS) after completing the much-talked about deal with MLS side Chicago Fire last month.
This move by the 24-year-old has been criticized by many following his impressive performance for Helsingborg in the Swedish League last season and have described the MLS as a retirement league for European superstars.
But Accam in an interview with Joy Sports stated that he made the right decision.
“When the offer came, I compared to the other offers and this was the best for me, the respect and commitment they showed, was massive,” said Accam
“You have to look at the MLS now, they are trying to develop and it is one of the best developing leagues in the World.
“With the signings they are making I want to be part of this project and I know it is going to be big in the next year or two,
“They are signing big players from Europe, the likes of Gerrard, Lampard, David Villa and Kaka, most of the big names are going there.
Accam is currently with the Black Stars in Spain as they prepare for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.
