The Association of Certified Chartered Economics - ACCE-Ghana - is confident the Ghanaian economy stands to benefit from its professional training modules.
The programme is designed by the American Academy of Financial Management (AAFM) to train people who want to pursue courses in the field of economics and economic policy analyst.
The professional programme was introduced in Ghana two years ago to whip up interest in the study of economics.
Over 200 potential economists in Kumasi joined others in Ghana and global students to write the ACCE professional examination, leading to the award of Chartered Economists Certification.
Officer-in-charge of Finance and Operations at the ACCE-Ghana, Konadu Yiadom, tells Luv Fm a wide array of career-based courses is offered to trainees, including petroleum and energy economics, industrial and managerial economics, financial and health economics as well as economic policy analyst.
Mr. Yiadom is enthused at the growing interest in the study of economics, stating that “at least the average Ghanaian should know something about economics and we have several opportunities for our individual members but we are much concerned about the value we add to them. And I think with the modules that we have, if we’re able to train 4,000 our economy will benefit greatly”.
The ACCE certification is recognized worldwide and according to Mr. Yiadom, there are arrangements to attain local accreditation from the National Accreditation Board.
