Workers of Access Bank are set to roll out a programme from next year to render voluntary service in local communities, especially, in the bank’s catchment area.
Under the initiative known as Employee Volunteering Programme, staff will offer expertise and other forms of support on projects of real value to the vulnerable.
The Children’s Ward at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital has already benefitted from the gesture after 70 employees contributed over four thousand Ghana cedis to renovate the facility.
They also donated a refrigerator and microwave to the ward which they have now adopted.
Access Bank was adjudged the Most Socially Responsible Bank in 2010 for its commitment to health and education development.
Sector Head for Retail Banking and Project Director, Robertson Afful, tells Nhyira Fm the focus next year will be to better the lot of poor patients in health facilities.
Director of Nursing at Komfo Anokye Hospital, Patience Yeboah Ampong, was full of praise for staff of Access Bank for the gesture.
Access Bank has for the past three years introduced financial packages to support growth of key economic players such as telecommunications, oil and gas, manufacturing and agriculture.
