New Ghana first choice goalkeeper Adam Larsen Kwarasey is racing to be fit for Saturday’s crucial Nations Cup qualifier against Sudan in Omdurman.The Stromgodset goalkeeper has been battling with malaria for the past two days and not been able to attend full training sessions.Kwarasey is likely to join his team-mates for training this afternoon at the Al Hilal Stadium in Omdurman and the medical team will assess his condition.If he fails to win the fitness battle, either Berekum Chelsea goalkeeper Ernest Sowah or All Africa Games gold medalist Daniel Agyei could be handed a start.He told GHANAsoccernet.com: “I have been sick for the past two days but I hope I will train with the team at 14:00 GMT.”Kwarasey received praises from Ghanaians for his gallantry display against Brazil in last month’s international friendly.The 24-year-old is said to have contracted malaria during the team’s camping base in Nairobi, Kenya.
