Silver medalist in the 2013 Nations Cup tournament Burkina Faso are on the verge of a first round exit in the 2015 edition following a barren scoreline with host Equatorial Guinea in the second Group A match played in Bata.
Burkina Faso have thus picked only a point from the maximum six and must win their last game against Congo and hope for a favorable result in the group's other game before they can make it to the quarter finals stage of the competition.
The host on the other hand, have two points from two games and must also grind a result against neighbours Gabon in the last group game.
The encounter between Burkina Faso and Equatorial Guinea was not as boring as the scoreline suggested.
Both teams were desperate for a win but on the day, they were all too profligate in front of goal.
The host did not look like a side who had few weeks to prepare for a major tournament. They were a delight to watch especially on the break with Balboa, Kike, Nsue dictating the pace for most part.
But the Burkina Faso defence marshaled around Bakari Kone and Koffi neutralised the attack from the host.
The star for the Burkina side Traore more than once breached the host's defence but his final touch always let him down.
Both sides will look back at the game and blame themselves for not picking maximum points
