Ghana has qualified to the quarter final stage of the men's volleyball competition after a 2-1 win over Algeria.
Ghana's impressive pairing of Paul Akan and Seidu Agyinaku rallied back from a difficult second set to take the decisive third set.
Tuesday's win is Ghana's fourth consecutive win after an excellent group stage campaign.
Ghana qualified from pool F of the men's beach volleyball with a perfect score of three wins; a 2-1 win over Togo, 2-0 over Senegal and a 2-0 win over Benin.
Earlier on Monday, the team's coach, Chapnuor Eden tasked the team to win gold by the end of the competition.
"We couldn't win gold at the last tournament we hosted here; the Commonwealth Qualifiers. For the men's side we couldn't but I'm confident we can get a gold medal in this African Games." He told JoySports.
The women's team had a more straightforward path.
Successive group stage wins - 2-1 over the Gambia and 2-0 over Burkina Faso, in pool A ensured qualification to the quarter final stage.
Both male and female teams will learn of their quarter final opponents after tonight's draw at 6 PM.
