Aggrieved workers of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) have vowed to resist the extension of Director General Major Albert B. Don-Chebe (Rtd.) tenure after serving his term.
According to the workers, Don-Chebe and his Board have collapsed GBC consequently; they are therefore calling for a new management who has the well being of the national broadcaster at heart.
Instead of the usual noise that characterizes worker's protests, Joy News’ Martha Thompson on her visit to GBC’s head office at Kanda saw that they have erected red flags at the entrances with bold messages stating their stance.

Although the workers who spoke Martha to refused to show their faces or state their names, they made clear their grievances.
The workers claim that Don-Chebe and his Board have misused monies that are supposed to be re-invested.

Management are said to have bought new personal vehicles for management while the station lacks equipment to work with.
The National Media Commission in consultation with the President, in consonance with the 1992 Constitution, appointed Don-Chebe as the Director-General of GBC for a three-year term, effective Tuesday, May 14, 2013.
His first term expires in May 2016.
