The Agric Minister Kwesi Ahwoi has terminated the road contracts to two contractors for delaying in completing the project on time at Widnaba in the Upper East Region.
The 13 kilometre road which was given to two different contractors last year was to be completed by April this year.
The project, under the Northern Rural Growth Programme is meant to bridge the gap between the Northern and Southern Regions.
Roy Ayariga, who is the National Programme Coordinator of the project, told Joy News that other similar road projects at different stages of completion will also face termination if not finished by the end of June.
He also expressed his discontentment, describing the performance of the contractors on some of the terminated projects as “appalling”.
