Q-Education Aid Ghana (QUEAD), a charity organisation based in Tema, has signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with the Ahafo-Ano North District Assembly at Tepa to provide a two-year education intervention in the district.
Miss Patricia Amoo Otchere, the Executive Director of QUEAD signed for the organisation, while Nana Eric Agyemang Prempeh, the District Chief Executive signed for the District Assembly.
Under the agreement, QUEAD with financial support from 21st Century Learning Initiative, also a non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) based in United Kingdom, will assist basic schools in twenty communities in the district in English Language Literacy Development.
In addition to that, QUEAD is to construct eight units of two bedroom detached teachers’ bungalows, four unit detached three bedroom teachers bungalow, two units of six-classroom block with computer resource centre and six unit of four-seater modern KVIPs in some selected schools in the districts.
Speaking at the ceremony, Miss Otchere, explained that, the programme which is on pilot bases will assist the district to arrest the downward trend of education delivery, focusing on English Language development.
Nana Prempeh thanked the organisation for selecting the district for the pilot project and pledged the support of the assembly for its successful implementation.
Mrs. Nana Abudu, the District Director of Education, expressed gratitude to the organisation and the major sponsors and assured them of the fullest cooperation of the Education Directorate towards the success of the project.
