Asante Kotoko forward Albert Amoah is confident of finishing the season as the League's top scorer after his excellent performance against Medeama SC on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The striker netted a sensational hat-trick to power Kotoko to a 3-1 victory, reigniting his bid for the Ghana Premier League Golden Boot.
Amoah opened his account with a composed penalty in the 23rd minute to level the score. He followed up with a powerful near-post header in the 40th minute to give Kotoko the lead. His third came in the 79th minute, once again with a towering header, sealing all three points for the Porcupine Warriors.
Amoah’s goal tally now stands at 12, just three behind current top scorer Stephen Amankona of Berekum Chelsea.
Speaking after the match, Amoah expressed delight over his performance and reaffirmed his ambition to finish the season as the league’s top scorer.
"It is not too late, everything is possible, he said."
"We have one more away game, and I hope we secure all three points. I scored a hat-trick at Accra Great Olympics, and today too. So now, I have two hattrick balls at home."
Kotoko will wrap up their season with an away fixture against Vision FC, and Amoah will be aiming for a goal haul big enough to leapfrog Amankona and claim the top scorer title.
