All is set for the third edition of West Africa’s leading mobile focused conference dubbed Mobile Web West Africa (MWWA) 2013.
The conference is slated for May 7th through 10th at the Four Points by Sheraton in Lagos, Nigeria.
Ghanaian startups from Meltwater Entreprenuerial School of Technology (MEST), including Saya Chat, Nandi Mobile, MPawa, Leti Games, and Adsbrook would be representing Ghana at the conference.
Organizers of the conference, All Amber said in a statement copied to Adom Business it is a little just one week to the conference and participation is almost fully booked already.
“Only a handful of places now remain for the popular industry get-together - this will be the third year in a row that the event completely sells out,” Event Director Matthew Dawes said in the statement.
Dawes was enthusiastic that this year’s edition of MWWA has booked up faster than either of the previous conferences and this is an indication of the level of progress in the industry.
He said MWWA2013 would feature the best speaker line-up yet and the industry support this year is above and beyond anything the conference has experienced before.
“My hope is that the presentations, discussions and networking on offer will enable and facilitate growth, as that is my main objective,” Dawes said.
Speakers for the conference comprise of the very best local and international experts from organizations including Qualcomm, Etisalat, MXit, VConnect, biNu, Thomson Reuters, iROKING, Jumia Nigeria, M-Net Africa, Spinlet, L5Lab, Eskimi, Guinness Nigeria and Airtel.
Main One, Dimension Data, Carat MP and MIH Internet are just a few of the many companies sending representatives to the event.
Dawes said the 2013 edition features the first ever Mobile Marketing West Africa Focus Day, slated for Tuesday May 7th, 2013.
Mobile marketing experts from Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and South Africa are expected to share best practice insights and case studies on mobile advertising, data & analytics, mobile social networks and location based services at the May 7 event.
Presenters for the Focus Day event include Google, Konga, Wild Fusion, 2go, Twinpine and Ghana’s AdsBrook.
MWWA2013 will also bring together the top minds in mobile app development and feature the usual App Developer Competition will on the App Developer Day slated for May 10, 2013.
The day will showcase creations from five of the region’s best app developers, and prizes would include BlackBerry handsets and an iPad mini.
Meanwhile, the App Developer Day will also be used to provide detailed training for developers seeking to optimize and monetize their mobile apps.
