The 26-year-old is also looking forward to turning professional soon after the unfortunate events at the Olympic Games. “I am looking forward to fighting in the Association of International Amateur Boxing Association’s (AIBA) professional programme which gives amateur boxers fight opportunities and a platform to earn money. If that doesn’t work I will immediately join the professional ranks,” he revealed to Joy Sports.Amponsah who is a heavyweight boxer is now 26 and says he is grateful for the experience at the Olympics even though he did not compete and is now looking ahead into the future. “I don’t have the Rio 2016 in mind. Because of my age and the desire to move on I will just go professional,” he said.Amponsah missed out on the boxing event at the Olympic Games after doctors declared it will be dangerous for him to compete.
