Andre Schurrle is set to become Jose Mourinho’s first signing since his return as Chelsea manager.
The Blues have reached an agreement with Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen for the Germany international forward.
Schurrle, 22, will now discuss personal terms with the London club and undergo a medical before completing the move.

“Chelsea Football Club and Bayer Leverkusen have reached an agreement for the transfer of Andre Schurrle,” a statement on the club’s website read.
“The deal is subject to the completion of legal documentation and related matters, including personal terms and passing a medical.”
Mourinho was confirmed as the new Chelsea manager on 3 June but Bundesliga side Leverkusen had revealed interest from the Blues in Schurrle before the former Real Madrid manager’s appointment.
Schurrle is a long-term target for the Stamford Bridge club, with the west London club having a bid for his services rejected last summer. The former Mainz player has since expressed his regret a move did not happen.
He scored 11 goals in 34 league games in 2012-13 for Leverkusen, who finished in the third and final automatic Champions League qualifying place in the Bundesliga.
Schurrle, who is comfortable playing on the wing or in a central striking role, has also impressed for Germany – scoring seven goals in 24 appearances – and was included in their Euro 2012 squad.
