Some schools in Anloga have been closed down and many residents have fled the town as the chieftaincy crisis there deepens.
The Assembly Member for Lashibi a suburb of Anloga the centre of the conflict, Makafui Wornya says increased police brutality in the town has led to the closure of the schools and the fleeing of mostly the youth.
He said the youth in particular are leaving the town to avoid indiscriminate arrests by police officers who have been deployed to the town.
Speaking to Joy News Mr. Wornya who is also the second vice chairman of the ruling NPP says the crisis is far from over because the youth who have been chased out of the town are planning to return to attack the police.
He said the police break down doors, drag residents from their rooms and molest them.
He also accused the police of human rights abuse.
He told Joy News of how the police molested and beat up drivers who were driving through the town.
