Victory over Sudan kept Ghana's hopes of reaching the final stage of qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup alive but coach Kwesi Appiah is not getting carried away just yet. The Black Stars coach guided his team to a 3-1 away win over the Nile Crocodiles on Friday, which took them temporarily to the top of the standings. However, Zambia regained the Group D lead by one point from Ghana after defeating lowly Lesotho 4-0 in Ndola on Saturday. For the Black Stars to reach the next round, they need to win away against Lesotho this weekend and at home to Zambia during September. But Appiah insists, they are not dwelling on their exciting performance against Sudan, having played an hour with ten men following the dismissal of defender Richard Kissi Boateng, rather they are focusing on the Lesotho match in Maseru. "Immediately after the game, I drew their attention to the fact that, the Sudan game is over and we need to start thinking about the Lesotho game," Appiah, who arrived in South Africa on Saturday with the team to prepare for the Lesotho match told www.ghanafa.org. "We take each game as it comes. We need to forget about Sudan and put full concentration on the Lesotho game. "There is nothing like jubilation at this time because we need to get two wins." The ten African group winners will be paired off for the final stage during October and November with the winners of the five home-and-away ties qualifying for Brazil 2014.
