The 2000 Year Group of past students of St. Augustine's College will unveil a $390,000 project on Saturday, March 15, 2025.
The project is the group's legacy gift to the school, commemorating the 95th Anniversary of St. Augustine's College and marking 25 years since the group’s completion from Augusco.

The project involved the renovation of the Junior Science Block, transforming it into three distinct laboratories—one each for Chemistry, Physics, and Integrated Science. The renovation also included the establishment of a 60-seater smart lecture theatre, equipped with state-of-the-art teaching and conferencing facilities.
Additionally, a large office space has been created for the Laboratory Manager and Lab Assistants, while the block also features two rooms for chemical preparation, one room for consumables storage, and washrooms for teachers, staff, and students. To ensure a reliable energy source, solar panels have been installed on the building.
According to Arc. Basil Akushey, Chair of the Legacy Project Committee, "The total cost of the renovation works amounted to $390,000." He added that the project was completed ahead of schedule and expressed deep gratitude to the team of experts who worked tirelessly to make it a reality.

The Project Manager, Roland Oppey, praised the professionalism of the entire project team and fellow APSU members. "There was a time I doubted whether this project would see the light of day. I kept worrying about funding, funding, funding. Now, I see a beautiful edifice— a testament to the persevering spirit Augusco instilled in us," he said with a broad smile.
Similarly, Asare Okae-Anti, Chair of the Planning Committee, was visibly relieved after seeing the completed project. He quoted Nelson Mandela, saying, "It always seems impossible until it is done."
The Convenor of the Year Group, E. Kofi Acolatse, also praised the Project Team for an excellent job. "A year ago, I promised that APSU 2000 would deliver a spectacle. I cannot say more," he beamed with pride.
