Two suspected armed men last night shot and killed the chief executive of LPG supply firm Lewis Gas.
Lewis Baidoo was killed at the entrance of his home at the Madina Estates in the presence of his wife, Benedicta Baidoo.
“I met him by the car and then we were walking towards the door. While we were walking we saw somebody jump the wall. Then we turned. Then upon seeing [the intruder had taken a gun], I realised that they were following him because of money because he was carrying some small money on him. So the bag in which the money was, I just threw it to them because I was holding it. But I don’t know what happened after that…I didn’t even see the time the person left but all I saw was that my husband was on the floor and I started crying for help,” Benedicta recounted the incidence to Joy News.
According to her upon realizing that her husband was still alive after feeling his pulse but he was declared dead upon arrival at hospital.
The gunmen managed to escape with their booty, she said.
Joy News correspondent who later went to the scene of the incident said there were blood stains in the house.
The armed men “actually shot Mr Lewis twice: one in the chest and one in the head,” Agbeko quoted a relation of the deceased as saying.
The case has been reported to the Madina police who have vowed to bring the assailants to book.
