Five armed robbers on Thursday evening attacked students at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology campus, injuring one person.
The masked-robbers first attacked attendants and shoppers at a super market at Unity Hall, one of the students' halls of residence on campus, and made away with an unspecified amount of money.
In the process, a shop attendant whose name was given only as Esi is said to have been shot in the head by the robbers. She has been transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital from the University hospital where she was first sent to. She is said to be in stable condition, having sustained not too deep wounds in the face. Luckily for her, the pellets did not penetrate.
The incident comes less than a week after a female student stabbed a colleague.
