An articulated truck has run over four children killing them instantly at Mempeasem, a community near Cape Coast in the Central Region.
The articulated truck with registration number GR 6495 E heading towards Cape Coast from Twifo Praso veered off the road hitting the children playing by the roadside.
Four others sustained various degrees of injuries.
Joy News central regional correspondent, Richard Kojo Nyarko visited the Cape Coast Hospital where the accident victims, including the driver, are receiving treatment, and said they in stable condition.
One adult who was in a critical condition has been rushed to Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
“Cape Coast Hospital officials are worried and cautioned drivers to be extra careful on the road since similar cases are becoming rampant in the hospital,” he said.
