Asante Kotoko owner, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has advised new leaders of the club to be united following a meeting with them on Friday morning at the Manhyia Palace.
Asantehene met with the new board of directors, led by Dr Kwame Kyei, newly appointed Chief Executive Nana Yaw Amponsah and Chairman of the National Circles Council Christopher Damenya.
The meeting took place before Nana Yaw Amponsah’s unveiling ceremony later that day at the Sports Hotel in Kumasi.
Aside from being united, Otumfuo spoke about perfect segregation of powers, respect for each other and hard work as he believes are the only means to ensure a turnaround of the fortunes of his beloved club.
This was after addressing board members, chief executive and national circles chairman individually.

To begin with the board, Otumfuo thanked them for the steps they took to appointing Nana Yaw Amponsah as the club’s Chief Executive and called for a support system.
Asantehene further tasked the board to make sure the provision of everything needed for Nana Yaw to achieve glory as head of management.
For Nana Yaw, Otumfuo cautioned him to be strong and not fall prey to ill advisers, who mostly uses his name.
The supporters got their share of what the king prays to happen going forward as he instructed through Chairman Dechris the need for the supporters to go organize and mobilize themselves well enough to give support to the board and management to ensure their success vision become a reality.
Kotoko are one of the big clubs on the continent but in recent years they have fallen down the pecking order. The new leaders have one mission and that is get the club to the level they deserve to be.
