Some commercial road users in Ashaiman are gearing up for a ‘show-down’ later this week in protest against the bad nature of roads in the municipality.
A Trustee of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) branch of the Ashaiman Lorry station Mr. Augustine Kyeremeh, who confirmed the development to the Business Day, stated that the Union is trying very hard to avert the demonstration.
He revealed that countless appeals and letters have been delivered to leaders of the Union to sanction the demonstration for commencement.
According to him, the Union leaders are however not in favour of the proposal due to a similar demonstration last year which resulted in mayhem and destruction of properties.

“We won’t do that, when they want people to demonstrate on their behalf, they look to Ashaiman. We have been consistently tagged as a violent community and we are not going toj allow ourselves to be used again’,'I he stated.
