The Ashanti Regional Police Command has announced the successful conviction and sentencing of three teenage armed robbery suspects in connection with a violent daylight robbery in the Asokore Mampong Municipality.
According to the police, the incident, which occurred on the morning of 1st July 2025 between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., saw Mamudu Issah, Samuel Takyi, and Alhassan Abubakari, all aged 18, carry out a series of armed attacks on residents of Boubai.
Armed with machetes and riding unregistered motorbikes, the trio accompanied by three other accomplices currently on the run robbed several individuals of mobile phones, bags, and cash.

Their crime spree was cut short thanks to the swift intervention of vigilant community volunteers, who tracked the suspects to their hideout in Aboabo later the same day.
The suspects were apprehended and handed over to police, along with ten recovered mobile phones and three bags believed to have been stolen during the robbery.

The three were subsequently arraigned before the Atasemanso Circuit Court in Kumasi on 8th July 2025. All pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery and seven counts of robbery.
In addition, Mamudu Issah admitted to a separate charge of causing harm.

Delivering its judgment, the court sentenced:
- Mamudu Issah to 10 years' imprisonment for each robbery-related charge and three years for causing harm, all to run concurrently.
- Samuel Takyi and Alhassan Abubakari each received 10 years' imprisonment, also to run concurrently.
The convicted individuals have since been transferred to the Central Prisons in Kumasi to begin serving their sentences.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command extended its gratitude to the public, especially the community volunteers, for their quick action and cooperation.
Authorities urged continued collaboration between citizens and law enforcement, stressing the importance of promptly reporting suspicious activities to help maintain safety and order.
The police are still on the hunt for the remaining accomplices and are appealing to the public for any information that may lead to their arrest.
