Julius K. Ahiavi, the Assembly member for Ahwerase in the Akwapim South District has appealed to the people as well as non-resident citizens to contribute either in cash or in kind towards the provision of facilities to enhance the lives of the people.
He said on Tuesday that at the moment only one of the two 24-seater toilets built over 30 years ago is functioning.
The other toilet was shut down about a year ago due to its dilapidated condition.
Mr. Ahiavi said the town which has a population of about 500 people finds it difficult to use the only 12-seat toilet, especially during social functions and festivities.
He also appealed to individuals and organizations to donate computers and books to the local junior secondary school to enhance academic work.
Mr. Ahiavi said he would soon organize communal labour to improve sanitation in the town.
