About 300 people have lost their lives at Adamorabe for the past six years, due to the bad nature of the 7.2 kilometres road linking the town from Oyibi through Aburi- Jamaicaso in the Eastern Region.
The victims including pregnant women and children, died while being rushed for medical attention at Mampong Tetteh Quarshie Hospital and Danfah Hospital.
Mr Odum Mensah, President of the Progressive Peoples Union (PPU) of Adamorobe, near Aburi made this known to Ghana News Agency at Adamorobe,
He said November last year five persons died while on their way for treatment. They are Kwaku Agyei, Amma Otwe; a product of Accra Polytechnic and Awuraa Amma, a seamstress.
Mr Mensah made this known on Sunday when an eight-member Executive of the Union was sworn into office to tackle the problem and other developmental challenges in the town.
They are: Nii Osae Odartey, Chairman, Abusuapanin Ohene Moses, Vice-Chairman, Mr Ntow Adarkwah Yiadom, General Secretary, Mr Kwao Agovi, Public Relations Officer and Mr Ntow Kwame, Advisor.
Others officers are Mr Kwao Agovi, Mr Ntow Kwame and Mr Thomas Fianko.
Mr Adarkwah Yiadom appealed to the government, public-spirited individuals and organisations to come to the aid of the community.
Mr Boakye Yiadom who chaired the function called on chiefs and elders to unite for the development of the area by putting an end to land litigations.
