Minister of Works and Housing designate Alban Bagbin in the most dramatic fashion chickened out from the task of reciting the national pledge when he faced members of the Appointment Committee on Wednesday.
Bagbin hilariously asked the members of the committee to temper justice with mercy and not to operate the principle of “an eye for an eye.”
He then as minority leader and a member of the same committee subjected previous government appointees to similar task, and they failed rather woefully.
It was his turn on Wednesday to dance to his own rhythm, but somehow the learned lawyer and astute politician found his way around task, or was rather let off the hook by the committee members, his colleagues.
