Senior Human Resource Practitioner, Hannah Ashiokai Akrong, has admonished the youth to imbue in themselves the desire to go after what they want.
She added, ‘they should also strive for excellence'.
In an interview with Rev. Erskine on YFM’s Y-Leaderboard Series, the HR Director for Vodafone Ghana disclosed that her parents imbued in her and her siblings “the spirit of adventure”.
“My parents always preferred us being home and having friends come over. Growing up my dad was very strict.
"It was a loving family knowing that I could do whatever I wanted to do. Our parents always engraved in us the spirit of adventure. Just do what you can and just be the best at it,” she said.
Hannah Ashiokai-Akrong disclosed how she spent her early childhood in Takoradi due to her father’s timber career.
Giving a glimpse outlook of her family, she described her family as very loving and well-sheltered.
“I think it was because we were many and you always had someone to play with,” she said.
“I was born in Takoradi and most of my dad’s career was in the timber industry. A big part of his timber industry was based in Takoradi, so the whole family was there.
"That was where I was born and most of my siblings as well. I’m the 11th of 12 children, six boys and six girls. I always tell the last one I was supposed to be the last baby,” she said hilariously.
