Division One side Bechem United has withdrawn from Ghana Football, barely a day after it missed out on a premiership debut.
Chief Executive of the club Ralph Gyamerah told Joy Sports’ Ridwan Asante “we think we have suffered enough in division one and its time to call it quits.”
Narrating the supposed ordeal of the club, Mr Gyamerah said for several years referees and the system have been unfair to the club and several complaints to the football authorities have gone unheeded.
“Every other year we come out to state how unfair referees have been to us and how unfair the system itself has been to us; it looks like nobody is taking us serious.
“I think yesterday we reached the crescendo and we feel enough is enough, we should just leave the scene for those who think they can do football the way they want to do it to continue with the way they are doing it,” he lamented
Bechem United were held by BA Stars in a pulsating 1-1 drawn game in a Zone 1 play off on Sunday, denying the club their long held ambition of qualifying for the premiership.
Meanwhile the Brong Ahafo Regional Security Council has imposed a curfew on Bechem following violent clashes between supporters of the two clubs.
