The kitchen was filled with love, laughter, and the unmistakable aroma of Jollof rice on Sunday, June 15, 2025, as Big Chef Junior Season 4 served up one of its most emotional and inspiring episodes yet.
In celebration of Father’s Day, the show introduced a special edition: the Gino Jollof Challenge, under the heartfelt theme ‘My Father, My Hero.’

In the episode, contestants weren’t just cooking for the judges, they were cooking with their fathers. Each duo teamed up to prepare their signature version of Ghana’s most beloved dish, Jollof rice.
While all contestants used the same staple ingredients, they had the freedom to infuse their dishes with personal flair, family traditions, and secret spices passed down through generations.
The result was nothing short of magical. From smoky party-style Jollof to garden-inspired veggie-infused versions, each team brought something deeply personal to the table.

The judges, visibly moved by the emotional bonding and culinary creativity, admitted it was one of the most difficult verdicts they've had to deliver all season.
In the end, Raziela and her father stole the spotlight. Their dish, ‘Special Daddys Jollof Woth Fried Turkey’ cooked with heart and harmony, earned them the Star Team of the Week title.
Their teamwork, storytelling, and well-balanced flavours won over the judges and melted the hearts of viewers.

Other contestants also gave impressive performances, turning the kitchen into a celebration of fatherhood, heritage, and culinary skill. The episode honored great dads and also showcased how food can strengthen the bonds between generations.
The Big Chef junior Season 4 on Joy Prime keeps raising the bar blending family, culture, and cooking into a rich feast of entertainment.
