The Hohoe Circuit Court has sentenced an unemployed young man of Gbi-Kpoeta at Hohoe to 18 months imprisonment with hard labour, for stealing a phoenix bike and 30 pieces of iron rods, valued GH¢255 belonging to one Adusa.
Samuel Akordia pleaded guilty to stealing.
Chief Inspector Samuel Gbedemah, prosecuting, told the court presided over by Mr Samuel Sarpong-Appiah that a caretaker of the properties of one Mr Adusa, who is domiciled at Wenchi in the Brong Ahafo Region, reported the stealing of various items including building materials and a turkey to the Hohoe Police.
He said on October 24, 2007, the Caretaker parked his phoenix bike valued at GH¢ 60 and went to bed but woke up the next day to notice the theft of his bike and 30 pieces of iron rods from the house at Gbi-Kpoeta.
Mr. Gbedemah said investigations led to the arrest of Akordia, who confessed stealing the items.Source: GNA
