The Most Right Reverend Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi, Catholic Bishop of Sunyani Diocese, has urged Christians not to be selective in rendering humanitarian services during the Christmas festivities.
He made the call in a sermon at the inauguration of the Saint Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Directorate at Bonsu that would serve 11 communities in the Nkoranza South district of Brong-Ahafo.
The communities are Bonsu, Breme, Akumsa Domase, Dotobaa, Asonkwaa and Nkwabeng. Others are Akuma, Dompoase, Meta, Nsugum and Brahoho.
The Catholic Bishop deplored the negative practice by some Christians to discriminate in giving alms and support, stressing that the teachings of the church must reflect in their social lives.
Bishop Gyamfi called on the leaders of the outstations of the church to co-exist peacefully and collaborate with traditional authorities to enhance the development of their communities.
He said since the church was a partner in nation building, the establishment the rectorate should bring improvement in the educational, health and sustainable environmental needs of the people.
Bishop Gyamfi cautioned the youth to lead lives worthy of emulation and shun unhealthy practices that could ruin their future.
