Black Satellites striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom is remaining calm despite the side’s profligacy in front of goal and his own inability to add to his tally at the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Championships.Boakye Yiadom who was on target in Ghana’s Group A opener against France has since failed to score in subsequent games. Though he will be happy to get on the score sheet, he is equally delighted if his other colleagues chip in the goals.“It is understandable that football fans want to see strikers put the ball at the back of the net but with eleven players out there on the pitch, there is always a chance that my colleagues in other positions could also get a goal or two if they find themselves in good enough positions to put the ball at the back of the net,” he told Joy sports“We have scored five goals in the competition so far. We the strikers, Assifuah and myself have scored three goals with Ashia and Acheampong also nicking in goals. As long as we score and the goals put us in good stead, that means a lot more to me than individual glory.“Football is a team sport and the collective efforts of everyone will be key to the team getting a result against Portugal.”The 19-year-old, who has taken a very religious posture at the tournament by leading prayer sessions, could not help thanking God for how far the team has come and how he is personally psyching up himself for the game against the Portuguese.“We owe our qualification to divine intervention thus we simply cannot afford to let this second opportunity he has given us slip by. He has not brought us this far for nothing and with hard work, we know He would take us far.The Black Satellites will come up against Portugal at the Kadir Has Stadium in Kayseri on Wednesday in the Round of 16 with the winner scheduled to take on Croatia or Chile at the quarter final stage.
