A pro-NPP women group known as the Loyal Ladies has donated assorted items worth thousands of Ghana Cedis to two hospitals in Techiman in the Bono East region.
The group led by its National President Madam Perpetual Nyarko began the day by spending time with patients at the maternity and children's wards of the Ahmediyya Muslim hospital with treats of love and compassion.
They distributed items including baby diapers, toiletries, milo, biscuits, milks, assorted soft drinks, washing powders among others to admitted patients in the women and children unit.
They then proceeded to the largest health facility in the region, the Holy Family hospital where they presented similar items to the head of the children's unit Dr. Jacqueline Assibey for distribution to the needy.
Madam Perpetual who presented the items on behalf of the group indicated that the gesture was to put smiles on the faces of the children on admission as well as cushion the economic difficulties faced by their mothers in their quest to providing them health care.
Receiving the items on behalf of the patients and the hospital, Dr. Jacqueline expressed gratitude to the group adding that the presentation was timely since "some of the mothers on admission are unable to purchase diapers and other essential items for their wards".
She called on benevolent philanthropists and groups to emulate same by supporting the needy on admission.
The group began the week with a clean up exercise on Saturday through the principal streets of the Bono East regional Capital as a means of promoting cleanliness and reducing deseases in the society.
