A defeated NDC parliamentary aspirant in the Upper Manya Krobo constituency has rejected the results of last Saturday primaries which were declared in favour of the incumbent MP, Jeff Kavianu.
Mr Kavianu's victory is being challenged by followers of the defeated aspirant, Bismark Tetteh Nyarko.

They believe the election results have been tampered with to favour the incumbent.
Registering their displeasure, the NDC Youth in the area set vehicle tyres on fire and marched through the town chanting war songs.

Speaking to the teeming crowd in Asesewa, the aggrieved aspirant, Bismark Tetteh Nyarko completely rejected the results and called for a fresh election.
“I do not accept the outcome of the primaries. We discovered that all the results from Sekesua area were transported to Asesewa by campaign team members of Hon Jeff Kavianu. That is unacceptable”.
The defeated aspirant says he does not accept the results because the transportation of the items was done without police escort and his agents.
He is demanding for the electoral materials to be returned to the court premises – which is the originally accepted venue for the collation of the results.

Angry supporters of the defeated aspirant
“We are expecting the ballot boxes and all the documents accompanying it to be transported to the court premises because that is where we have our agents”.
“We are demanding for a re-election in Upper Manya constituency. We are asking for this option because we think the constituency executives, elections directorate and the EC officials under the influence of Jeff have managed to manipulate the results of the election”, he said.
According to him, the only way peace will return to Manya Krobo is for the NDC to conduct fresh elections in the constituency.
