The FA is reportedly investigating a complaint that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho used abusive and sexist language towards team doctor Eva Carneiro during the Premier League match against Swansea.
According to a report in the Independent, the FA’s compliance department are studying video evidence that Mourinho abused Carneiro after she had gone on to the pitch to treat Eden Hazard, at referee Michael Oliver’s request.
The Independent’s Sam Wallace has reported that the Chelsea boss “could face a five-match touchline ban if found guilty” following the complaint, believed to have been made by a member of the public in the last few days.
The FA’s rule E3 states that players and coaches can be penalised for using “offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures” with Mourinho potentially facing a five-match ban if he is found guilty.

Carneiro has reportedly not returned to Chelsea’s Cobham training ground since she and head physiotherapist Jon Fearn were withdrawn from matchday duties by Mourinho following the match against Swansea.
Chelsea have proceeded with the partnership of doctor Chris Hughes and physiotherapist Steven Hughes since the high-profile fall-out with Carneiro and Fearn.
FA chief executive Martin Glenn appeared to back Carneiro when he said earlier this month that the medical staff’s priority was “to the players, not the manager”.
