An unidentified gunman has shot and wounded the Omanhene of Ofoase Traditional Area in the Asante Akyem South District of the Ashanti Region.
Nana Tiefun Ampratwum was attacked in his bedroom last night in what is suspected to be in connection with a dispute over the installation of a queen-mother for the area.
He is currently on admission at the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital from where the District Chief Executive De-Graft Fokuo spoke to Luv FM about his condition, explaining circumstances leading to the shooting.
Mr Fokuo noted that following a misunderstanding over the installation, the District Security Committee ordered the suspension of the installation ceremony to which both factions agreed.
District Police Commander (DSP) Anthony Appiah corroborates the information, assuring of efforts by the police to maintain peace and avert any nasty situation.
