In a bid to enhance technical vocational education within their community, the Chiefs and residents of Dagbamate in the Akatsi South Municipality of the Volta Region have made a fervent appeal to the government.
They are asking for urgent assistance in equipping and staffing a newly constructed vocational school, set to be commissioned in 2025.
The call for support was articulated by Samuel Davor, speaking on behalf of the Hunuawo and the entire community, alongside the town's leader, Ngorgbea Kofi Davor at the 2024 annual festival of the Afetorku Gbordzi.

Both emphasized the vital role this school could play in empowering the youth and driving development within Dagbamate.

The self-constructed vocational school, a testament to the community's determination and initiative, stands poised to become a hub for technical skills development. However, without essential resources and qualified instructors, its full potential will remain untapped.
Highlighting the community's efforts, Samuel Davor emphasized that all funding for the project had been sourced locally, notably from the Afetorku Gbordzi shrine.
This grassroots initiative, driven by a deep sense of communal responsibility, reflects the community's dedication to providing quality education for its youth.
With the school nearing completion, the urgent need for government intervention has become apparent.
The Chiefs and residents seek assistance in procuring modern equipment and machinery, essential for practical training in various vocational fields.
The appeal includes a request for the government to allocate additional teaching staff to the town. The shortage of qualified instructors poses a significant challenge to the effective operation of the vocational school.
Ngorgbea Kofi Davor, the community's leader, reiterated the profound impact this project could have on Dagbamate's socio-economic landscape. He emphasized that equipping the school and providing skilled teachers would not only empower the youth with employable skills but also contribute to the overall prosperity and development of the entire community.

The Chiefs, Hunuawo, and residents of Dagbamate eagerly await a positive response from the government, hoping that their plea for support will be met.
Their vision for the vocational school extends far beyond its walls, as they envision it as a catalyst for growth and opportunity within their beloved community.
The annual festival of the Afetorku Gbordzi is under the theme, HAVILOLO [Loving each other] with the worshipers around the globe and honoured by the Chief of Dagbamate, Torgbui Klu Agudzeamegah II among many others.
