Thirty-five Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA) students graduated in the maiden China Europe International Business School (CEIBS)graduation ceremony held on Thursday at the Accra International Conference Centre. Most notable presence at the occasion was the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alhaji Mohammed Mumuni.
Reading a speech on behalf of the President JEA Mills, the Minister Minister for Education, Alex Tettey Enyo underscored the importance of education, adding that innovation is the key to survival in this competitive modern world.
He challenged the graduates to translate their knowledge to the development of Ghana and Africa.
“This is a bright new beginning. You the members of the inaugural staff of CEIBS are about to make history.
“We look forward to seeing what fresh new ideas you will contribute to the development of Ghana and of Africa in the years to come.”
He underscored the importance of education, hinting that innovation is the key to survival in this competitive world.
“Your stories will provide a test chapter in business management education.”
He heaped praises on China, stating that the country had undergone remarkable growth over the last 30 years, even in the face of the recent global credit crunch.
The institution awarded Kwasi Danso-Misa with the EMBA Impact Your World Award and he took home a cash prize of GH¢1,000.
CEIBS is a business school established by a joint partnership between the EU and China as a non-profit venture in 1994.
The institution is accredited by the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) and Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), both renowned international systems of quality assessment, improvement and accreditation of higher education institutions in management and business administration.
The school is ranked as the number 1 business school in Asia Pacific and is ranked among the top 25 global business schools.
In 2008, CEIBS Africa programme was registered in Ghana and was officially launched in Accra on May 19 2009.
