An Educational Endowment Fund established by the Chiefs and people of Chonke in the Krachi West District has spent a total of GH¢1,200 on three female students - two at Krachi Senior High School and the other at Dambai Teacher Training College. Daasebre Kwame Bonjah II, Paramount Chief of Chonke Traditional Area, announced this when he led the people to celebrate the area's annual yam festival at Borae Number two. He said the fund was instituted to help improve literacy among the people, especially the womenfolk, and generally boost the development of the community. Mr Joseph Nayan, Deputy Volta Regional Minister commended the people for setting up the fund and entreated citizens to contribute to sustaining it. Source: GNA
