The Ashanti Regional Minister, Kwaku Agyemang-Mensah has asked civil servants to improve on their performance since the development of the country largely depend on them.
He says one cannot tell the success story of the country without crediting civil servants from whose sweat and toil the nation has been built.
Dr. Agyemang-Mensah gave the advice at the celebrations of this year’s Senior Citizens’ Day in Kumasi at the weekend.
The day was to honour and recognize the contribution of the old who in diverse ways have contributed to the growth of the country.
Dr. Agyemang-Mensah asked civil servants not to relent on their efforts to ensure that President Mills and his Action Year Plan is supported to ensure total development.
He commended senior citizens for their contribution, adding that Ghana is what it is today because of they meritorious services they have rendered.
According to Dr. Agyemang-Mensah, the nation cannot develop without the old passing on their experience to the young and so advised senior citizens to put their rich experiences at the disposal of the young, especially government to facilitate the further development of the nation.
