The Ahafo Ano South District Civil Servants Association has expressed concern about the operations of two of its schemes and has called on management to render accounts to members.
The two schemes are the Savings and Loans scheme established in July 2003 and the Medical Care Scheme which was also set up by the Association in January 2002.
In a resolution passed by members at a general meeting held at Mankranso on Thursday, members noted that they had rendered accounts on only one occasion.
Members therefore stressed the need for rendering audited accounts for the years 2005 to 2007 by the end of December this year.
They threatened that failure to take steps to rectify the anomaly in the administration of the finances of the Association, would compel members to advise themselves.
The members referring to the constitution of the Association pointed out that the conduct of the managers contravened the constitution of the scheme which stated in article 38 Clause (d) that, “the chairman shall cause the Accounts of the Scheme to be audited and circularized to members”.
“It also contravenes the bye-laws of the scheme which states in Article 10 sub-section b (i) that: “The Annual General Meeting shall be held every year within 90 days of the close of the financial year to fill all vacancies in the committees and hold elections in every four years and to undertake such other business as laid down in these by-laws”, they said.
