Former Ghana international Malik Jabir has blamed the poor standard of football in the country's domestic league on players having too much sex.
Jabir, who now manages in the division, says the league has not progressed as hoped because players spend time before games having intercourse.
“A lot of today’s players cannot play 90 minutes because they get so tired easily," he told a national radio station.
"And you know why? Because they don’t sleep enough and don’t train enough and they engage in too much sex.
"There are beautiful young girls in Ghana and they won’t leave them alone."
Asante Kotoko boss Jabir explained that players struggle to manage their time properly and has urged them to find a balance between football and sex.
He added: "There is time for sex and time for football, but if you mix the two you will never reach the top."
Jabir is not the first to broach the subject, with former Germany boss Berti Vogts banning his players from having sex before games during the 1990s.
