The committee setup to investigate the fire outbreak which engulfed the Records Department of the Lands Commission has presented its report to the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Mike Hammah at a ceremony in Accra.
The committee made a number of recommendations including the creation of a backup system outside the premises of the commission to store documents.
The committee however said it needed more time to unravel the suspicion of foul play in the outbreak.
Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Mike Hammah assured the committee that the Ministry will carefully study the recommendations and act accordingly.
The committee was made up of personnel from the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), the military, police, the fire service and Lands Commission officials.
Fire gutted the Records Department of the Lands Commission on March 1, 2012 burning vital documents stored in the department.
