Ephraim K. Dei, General Manager of DEKS Educational Institute last weekend called on authorities of private schools to concentrate on the moulding of the character of children than making profit from their establishments.
He pointed out that the character of children reflected on their training from home and school therefore it was the responsibility of parents and school authorities to ensure discipline among children.
Mr Dei said their training should also be in line with current technological advancement in the world.
He said authorities of private schools should invest in staff development, welfare, health, sanitation, nutrition, Information, Communication and Technology to a holistic training for their pupils and students.
"Educational institutions must offer holistic training with focus on discipline to form the basis for the children to develop critical minds, "he added.
Mr Dei called for co-operation between parents and school authorities and establishment of guidance and counselling units in schools to counsel the children on their future careers.
