Rahim Ayew has finally joined Kumasi Asante Kotoko after a long-awaited move to the current Ghana League leaders, he was registered just in time to beat the deadline for the Premier League second window transfer
The Ghana midfielder is the latest addition to the Porcupine Warriors squad ahead of their Africa campaign.The 25-year-old accepted to be registered as a Kotoko player for the second round of the Premier League with just a game to end the league.
"I am now a Kotoko player and will be training this morning ( Tuesday) for the first time at the Kumasi Polytechnic Park and wish the supporters will welcome me in a grand style",he said.
Rahim, the eldest son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele has had to wait for six months to be eligible to play in the Ghanaian top flight again haven come to an agreement with Belgian club SK Lierse to mutually terminate his contract at the end of last season.
Ayew will join Isaac Boakye and Larbi Coomson as the latest Asante Kotoko signings once their registration and contractual agreements are sealed.
The ex Zamalek player first made his name in the Ghanaian top flight during his one-year stint with Eleven Wise which ended in 2009.
His subsequent move abroad however proved not as fruitful as desired and is now back to enrich the Ghana Premier League while looking for a way to regain his best form.
