The Upper West Regional Coordinating Director, Alhaji Alhassan Issahaku says conflicts are driving away donor agencies.
His comments come after the cancellation of a meeting yesterday, between UN agencies working in the region and residents of Nayiri, due to the recent shooting at the Wa Naa’s palace.
He stated that the frequent clashes retarded the development of the region as many district assemblies spent huge sums of money in maintaining law and order.
“Many of the donors want to provide us with assistance but these conflicts make them doubtful as to whether their donations will be put to the desired use.”
He appealed for such conflict situations to be avoided as they impeded the inflow of support to the region, from donor organizations and bodies.
